With over twenty years of recruiting, IMS has worked for many clients in countries near and far and has permanently available a huge diversity of attractive international opportunities for doctors.

The requirements and terms vary enormously, but the common theme is all IMS’s clients are reputable healthcare organisations offering internationally attractive financial terms and excellent working environments. The majority of the roles we offer are within Europe and The Middle East, though in recent years, we have an increasing number of clients needing doctors in The Caribbean, Asia and Africa.

Most of the positions permanent or long-term contract roles (1-2 years) and at the level of consultant (or for doctors whom have at least completed their specialist training). But we do have some roles that are shorter terms (contract or locum) and also more junior doctors for positions in various European countries including UK, Malta and Switzerland.

Some specialisms are permanently in demand internationally. These include dermatologists (for clients in The Caribbean, Middle East and France), ophthalmologists (in France and Ireland), Junior Doctors with GMC for the UK and Malta (for RMO roles in private hospitals) and usually several international roles on offer for psychiatrists, emergency and family medicine, radiologists and obstetrics and gynaecology. In Europe, we permanently have hospital clients and private clinics in the UK, Ireland, Gibraltar, Malta and Switzerland looking to source a diversity of doctors of all specialisms and experience. We are always interested in receiving applications from any GMC registered doctors (for the UK) or IMC registered (for Ireland).

Our Middle East clients are renowned for exceedingly modern hospitals, excellent working conditions and financially attractive offers (including tax free salaries). Clients in the Gulf have exacting requirements and from IMS, they will overwhelmingly only accept highly qualified and experienced doctors bringing with them experience and training gained in European (and other western) universities and hospitals. The majority of the roles are in in Saudi Arabia with hospital clients amongst the most prestigious in the Middle East.

If somewhere more distant is of interest, IMS’s has several long-standing clients in The Caribbean: Bermuda, The Cayman Islands and The Turks and Caicos Islands. IMS constantly receives request for us to source experienced nurses and midwives to work on these beautiful islands with their fantastic climates, outdoor-life and high standards of living. The packages on offer are generally highly attractive (with low taxes and good additional benefits) and usually accepted by candidates when offered. Again, most of these countries they tend overwhelmingly to accept from IMS highly qualified and experienced nurses bringing with them experience and training gained in western universities and hospitals.

IMS has been able to offer contract roles in places that are rarely considered or roles that have arisen due to special circumstances in challenging areas. These have included small, remote clinics in East Timor, Zambia and The Solomon Islands, NGO and UN peace-keeping missions (DRC, Mali, Kosovo and Iraq) and nurse jobs in a number of African countries during the Ebola crisis. IMS welcomes applicants wishing to be considered for these roles, as and when they arise, as usually the requirement comes with very short notice. Intermittently, we have roles in British Overseas Territories (including Gibraltar and the more distant St Helena Island); both have on-going needs for specialist doctors.

In Africa, our main clients are specialist hospitals in Ghana and Angola; both regularly requiring highly qualified doctors for their hospitals in the capital cities. Whilst in Asia, highly specialised doctors are constantly required in China for the leading American backed hospital chain as well as for Vietnam’s leading chain of private clinics.
