MIDDLE EAST - REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

If you are looking for a medical job in the Middle East, for many countries it is essential that the registration is either obtained (or at least has been started) before applying for many jobs.

Dataflow

The first stage for registration in Gulf countries is obtaining a Dataflow report.

Dataflow is the organisation that checks qualifications and credentials on behalf of the health authorities in The Middle East.

Before registration can proceed, all health authorities will require a Dataflow report.

It is therefore recommended that all candidates wanting to work in the Middle East proceeds with obtaining Dataflow by themselves from the outset.

Why?

  1. Getting Dataflow will speed up the recruitment process and will reduce the recruitment process by 2-4 months.

  2. Many clients see that by obtaining Dataflow, this is a clear commitment that a candidate is committed to working in the Middle East and also can be recruited faster than candidates that have not already obtained Dataflow

  3. Many IMS clients will reimburse the Dataflow fee if offered a job.

UAE REGISTRATION

For the majority of IMS’s clients in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it is essential that candidates have either obtained (or applied for) registration in advance of trying to apply for a job.

IMS therefore recommends that candidates start applying for registration if they are interested in working in the UAE

It is emphasised that any medical professional looking to work in the UAE needs to be aware of the minimum acceptable qualifications and experiences for eligibility for licensure to practice medical professions in the UAE.  The Professional’ Qualification Requirements (PQR)  for vary significantly between nationalities and the medical professions covered.

Any candidate seeking to work in UAE should consult “The Healthcare ‘Professional’ Qualification Requirements (PQR) for UAE" to be found at:

www.haad.ae/HAAD/tabid/927/Default.aspx

Please note that having obtained registration in the above UAE countries will not guarantee any candidate a job.

However having registration greatly enhances the chances of employment in these countries.

Alternatively not having registration means that for very many roles, candidates will be ineligible to apply as having registration is a prerequisite before applying. All our UAE dental clients and most of our hospitals now require candidates to be registered prior to applications being considered.

REGISTRATION IN OTHER MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES

For various other Middle East countries that IMS recruits for, registration requirements vary.

All will require Dataflow for registration.

Generally, registration will not be required before a client will review a cv in Saudi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

Registration will normally be required after a job offer has been made and must be attained before a candidate starts work.

ALL CANDIDATES ARE THEREFORE RECOMMENDED TO UNDERTAKE THEIR OWN RESEARCH TO DETERMINE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.
